For those suffering from Heroin Addiction:
Did you know that many of the administrators of this site are recovering heroin addicts?
Being addicted to heroin, you may feel like there is no way out. Every day you are just buying time so that you
won't get sick again. They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a
different result. Remember, as long as you continue to use, you will never escape the heroin withdrawal
symptoms that are so painful and crippling.
Getting better is only a matter of time. So for all the addicts out there wanting to get out, my
heart goes out to you. If I can get out, you can too... and yes, you will feel normal, it just takes time, patience
and the will to move on. The unfortunate circumstance is that heroin is a killer. Most addicts do not
die in the blaze of glory... there are no signs of overdose... they simply die in their sleep. If you are in
a relationship in which both of you are using, pray that you will never have to wake up next to someone this
happens to. Its a horrible circumstance that no person should ever have to go through.
For some, the idea of giving up heroin is so frightening. Heroin withdrawal
symptoms are like getting the worse, most painful flu you've ever had (enough to "feel" life
threatening). But there are medications out there that will allow you to live a life without heroin without getting
those horrible withdrawal symptoms from heroin.
To all those addicted to Opiates / Opioids, don't give up, we have faith in
you!
